Power back to the people
A blueprint for a better future.
A blueprint for a better future.
If you can help, please download and print the flyer and mailbox drop in your local town/area or assist at local polling stations. On election day, if you have time, I would appreciate if you could hand them out at your local polling location.
Please share this message with everyone you may speak with. Call friends and relative everywhere in QLD. If everyone can do this, all around QLD, then we have a chance in fixing the system of representative governance... POWER BACK TO THE PEOPLE !
Thanks,
Duke Wong

I was born in Sydney and raised in Millmerran - a Chinese boy in a small country town.
After studying Pharmacology and Physiology from UQ, I pursued a career in the IT industry. My work took me overseas, where I was employed by one of the UK’s largest conveyancing firms. Eventually, I returned to Brisbane to start a family.
Throughout my career, I’ve gained diverse experience across multiple industries, including the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, employment services , and rural motel accomodations.
In just 4 months, I hit the road and visited 36 towns across rural and regional Queensland. (Check the pics under “My Campaign - Greater QLD” up top.)
Far as I know, no Queensland politician’s ever done that. I’ll do it again every term I serve and if elected, I’ll invite all 11 other QLD Senators to road trip with me. Can’t promise they’ll say yes, but promise to invite will be real.
Because representation doesn’t happen from behind a desk in Brisbane or Canberra. It happens on the ground, face-to-face, with the people who matter: you.
Let’s call it out: most politicians show up for cameras, not for conversations. They talk at us, not with us.
You’ve felt it. I’ve heard it everywhere I go. People are sick of being ignored, dismissed, and spoken down to.
I’m not polished, packaged, or protected by the media. I’m not backed by millionaires. I’m just one of you - a regular Queenslander, giving power back to the people.
While the major parties pick sides and play games, our communities suffer.
They divide us so they can rule us.
I won’t play that game.
My mission is to unite Queenslanders, rise above the party brawls, and focus on what matters: schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, and your everyday cost of living.
Let’s shut down the noise and get to work. We, the people, are taking our power back.
A reporter once called me an anti-politician - and honestly, I wear that title with pride.
See, most politicians love giving their personal or party-approved opinion on every issue. They want to tell you what to think.
I want to ask you what you think.
My job isn’t to push my own agenda. It’s to carry yours.
Any Senator can claim they "represent the state" after scraping in with 14% of the vote. That’s not representation - that’s a technicality.
Real representation means listening. It means asking. It means earning your voice, every day.
And I won’t let my conscience outweigh the will of 3.7 million Queenslanders.
This idea has the potential for great societal change, a better democracy, built from the bottom up.
But with big change must come patience.
This must be a slow and steady evolution, not a knee-jerk revolution.
Step by step, town by town, voice by voice, we’re building something real.
Let’s flip the script.
Let’s break the mould.
Let’s make this your seat in the Senate.
I’m not here to be another politician.
I’m here to be your Peepitician.
Calling all influencers, celebrities, and changemakers - lend your voice to the movement! Let’s put power back in the hands of the people. Join the cause. Thank you!
I will base my decisions on the strength of the arguments presented by both sides of any proposed legislation. Each bill will be assessed on its merits, with my final vote grounded in rational reasoning and evidence. I will publicly explain the reasoning behind each decision, ensuring transparency and accountability.
If a particular issue is inherently biased or potentially divisive in nature, I may abstain from voting. I believe this is the foundation of a strong democratic society - one where neutrality and fact-based decision-making take precedence over personal beliefs.
In cases where uncertainty or societal complexity exists - such as with gender-related topics - I believe the final say should rest with the people. My personal biases should never override the will of the public, especially in today’s hyper-connected world.
My goal is to develop a working prototype of a three-tiered public voting system within 3 to 6 months. This system would help inform my decisions in the Senate by directly engaging Queenslanders in the democratic process.
All participants would be provided with balanced information from both sides of each issue to help guide their decisions.
Tier 1:
My own decision, based on the available facts and a publicly shared explanation of my reasoning.
Tier 2:
Professionals (verifiable, current or former) in governance, the judicial system and the media, who are enrolled to vote in Queensland.
Tier 3:
All other eligible voters on the Queensland electoral roll who do not fall under Tiers 1 or 2.
Each participant in the system will have three response options: Agree, Disagree, or Abstain.
When all three tiers are in unanimous agreement, the vote would carry accordingly. Tier 1 & 2, will not disrupt the vote, if the crowd thinking critical mass number has been reached in Tier 3.
A Transparent & Trustworthy System - I envision something akin to a token-based platform - where each vote is linked to a semi-obscured token ID, allowing for anonymous yet verifiable voting. Input would be kept simple, and output would display all votes cast per tier.
This system would act as a temporary solution until an official MyGov/AEC platform is developed to securely harness the collective voice of the people.
For contentious bills, ensure rigorous fact-checking by multiple independent agencies. Summarize key debated points and distribute this information in both concise and detailed formats for public accessibility.
Implement electronic voting with multi-factor authentication, such as MyGov with the AEC. Offer pre-assigned proxy voting for those unable to participate digitally.
On major social issues (e.g., youth crime, gender,(mis/dis)information, AI, etc), facilitate public idea generation and conduct thorough debates on the merits of each proposed solution.
Using the electronic voting system, Queenslanders can choose the best components to solve huge multi-facited societal problems, which I would champion in parliament.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stepped up to help gather signatures for my nomination.
